​The POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) Initiative supports a vibrant economic future for coal-impacted communities by cultivating economic diversity, enhancing job training and re-employment opportunities, creating jobs, and attracting new investment. In FY 2016, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), together with the Economic Development Administration, is providing POWER implementation grants and technical assistance grants for activities that address the challenges facing coal-impacted communities in the Appalachian Region.
